What we do with your data.
In plain English.

You typed in a domain name and ran a scan. Here is exactly what we kept, what we do with it, and how to get it back or delete it.

What we collect

When you use Elephant, we collect what you give us: your email address (if you provide one), your business domain, the keywords or category you tell us to score against, and — for the $499 tier — any draft llms.txt text you submit for review. We also keep any feedback you send us about your results. That's the list.

What we do with it

We use that data to run your scan and send you your report. We also use it to improve the product — if a domain consistently produces unusual results, that's worth understanding.

We use aggregated, anonymized patterns across all scans for research. Think of it like a mechanic keeping a log of every car that comes through the shop: the individual work order stays yours, but "47% of vehicles this month had the same brake issue" becomes shop knowledge. For us that looks like: "47% of AEC software companies are missing an llms.txt file." We publish findings like that publicly — no company names attached.

Where it might go next

Elephant Accountability is one of several companies I own and operate. Smart Auger Technologies / FATHOM — where I originally built the AI visibility system that became Elephant — may inherit the aggregated corpus of scan data to train and improve its own AI systems. That data will be anonymized before transfer: no company names, no contact information, no individual scan records. Identifiable data stays inside Elephant.

We do not sell your data. We do not transfer your identifiable information to any third party for their own marketing, research, or commercial use.

Your scan results

The report we produce for you is yours. Share it, keep it, or ignore it. We don't claim any ownership over it.

How to request a copy or deletion

Email chris@eaccountability.org from the address you used when you signed up (or from the address associated with your domain, if you didn't create an account). Write "data copy request" or "delete my data" in the subject line. We'll respond within five business days.

When this policy changes

If we update this policy in a material way, we'll email everyone on file before the change takes effect.
